“Getting lost is the only place worth going"
Why not follow the advice suggested by Tiziano Scarpa in his book "Is Venice a fish?"

01

In Venice the traveller loves to get lost in the dense tangle of paths. As overlapped wefts streets, squares, bridges and canals intersect and, like in a labyrinth, now they accompany you and now they impede you while wandering: here a bridge allows you to admire the architecture from a different point of view, there a street condenses the space forcing people to collide; over there a chink, almost force carved in the built environment, where to slide into and discover the daily life of Venice, between scents and dialect sounds of shouting people.
Venice has always topped the most popular destinations, including those to see at least once in one’s life. Unique city, on stilts for ages, it is nice to think of it as it was supported by a vast submerged forest of upside-down trees. Divided into a constellation of little islands, it is an hovering museum whose immobility is constantly broken by the fickleness of lights as time goes by and as seasons change. Here important architectures like Piazza San Marco, the Basilica and Palazzo Ducale, La Salute, San Giorgio and Il Redentore, the Accademia and Rialto bridges on the Canal Grande, the museums of Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana and the Guggenheim are constantly mirrored in the changing reflections of water while shapes and colors are continuously broken. Venice still remains, however, an important and worldwide reference point for art and culture thanks to major events like the Biennale of Art and Architecture, the international Film Festival and the Campiello Prize.
